Whimsical Velvet Bird in Twig Nest

Glad Tidings To All! Thank you for stopping by my Poppy page. I am very pleased with this latest creation. I have taken a grapevine nest and tucked into it mossy sticks, velvet leaves and tufts of green moss. The bird is made from a beautiful blue velvet that I have tea stained. The wings and base are from a cotton patterned material. Tied around the bird's neck is a lovely deep blue velvet ribbon.

The birdie is on a bed of moss and straw. She is carefully guarding three spotted eggs. The nest measures approximately 10 inches across. From the base of the nest to the top of the bird is 9 inches.

Aged Shadowbox with Bird and Nest

I love this shadowbox! It is the first one I have ever made and I think it turned out quite nicely. I made the frame for the shadowbox from thin wooden slats. I then took different patterned papers all in creams, blues and golds and heavily stained and aged them.

The interior of the box has several different papers throughout it. I layered several types on the walls and floor. The outside of the box is done in a wonderful blue and gold paper. The adornment at the top of the opening is music paper and scalloped bits of paper all dusted with mica glitter.

The bird is blue velvet with a small beaded eye. I have suspended it with a bit of ribbon from a wire hook. The nest is made from flax, straw, sticks, fern and velvet leaves. There are two speckled eggs in it. The Shadowbox measures 10 inches high and 7.5 inches wide.

Primitive OOAK Autumn Pumpkin Doll

I am offering this hand made Autumn Pumpkin doll for your kinde consideration.She has been hand crafted from clay using No Molds just my imagination. Once I formed her pumpkin features, arms and legs I baked, painted, sanded and stained her. I scruffed her up quite a bit so she looks as though many hands have held her.

I stitched her skirt and bodice using a red and cream brocade material. She has a stomacher made from red velvet. Her sleeves are velvet with puffs from the same brocade material. Her pantaloons are red velvet and I have painted her black shoes that curl at the tip.

She has a gathered cap of stained cotton. I tied a bit of ribbon about it which matches the ribbon around her waist. This Autumn dollie measures 14 inches. She would love to come home with you and brighten your day. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanksgiving Autumn Pillow

I love how this pillow turned out. I have sewn using wool and embroidery threads a collection of Fall fruits and branches. The scene has been sewn onto a red/brown colored velvet. It is very much the color of Autumn leaves. The backing is brown satin.

The saying has been sewn from brown wool thread and reads ~A Happy Thanksgiving Ripe fruits as well as leaves and flowers be yours this day.~

This a large pillow and measures at 20 X 14.

Hand Embroidered Turkey Pillow

I have hand embroidered this Turkey pillow using wool threads in Fall colors. The scene has been sewn onto chocolate velvet with a heavy brocade material on the back.

I hand dyed and stained the pumpkin and attached it by hand to the background. The stitched writing reads ~Thanksgiving-Peace & Prosperity.
