This witch's hat make do is 17" tall and 11" in diameter. The base is wood, painted black, sanded, and stained. The hat is made of muslin, stained, painted and sanded. It has a tie of coffee stained cheesecloth around the brim. The hat is decorated with Florida grown Spanish moss, sweet annie, dried rose hips, and light orange pips. There's also a handmade crow (made of muslin, stained, painted and sanded with bead eyes) sewn to the brim of the hat. The coffee stained tag that dangles below the hat says "the witch is in". This piece is signed "designed and made with love, Lucy".

Primitive Jack o Lantern witch make do - 344

Isn't this Jack o Lantern make do wonderful? It measures 18" tall and 7" in diameter. The base is made of wood turnings screwed and glued together for stability. I painted it black, sanded it and stained it for a nice aged appearance. The "pumpkin head" is made of orange and black checked fabric. The features were cut from a wool/silk blend fabric from a man's suit and hand stitched to the face. The witch's hat is made of muslin, stained, painted and sanded. After attaching the hat to the pumpkin head, I stained the entire thing again with a coffee/cinnamon/vanilla mixture. The hat has a cheesecloth tie, spanish moss, and sweet annie as well as a handmade fabric crow (muslin, painted and sanded with bead eyes). There's a cheesecloth tie below the pumpkin as well as some dark rusty red berry sprays, a 1 1/4" rusty star and more spanish moss.

13" tall Annie Ann is so adorable........She's my newest Annie design. I've made her of muslin. She has hand embroidered facial features and dark red crochet cotton hair, hand stitched and knotted in place. Here striped legs are painted and sanded. she wears muslin pantaloons under her dress of blue and white check design with sprays of tiny roses. Her little apron is made from a piece of linen dress scarf, hand embroidered with a blue flower. Black primitive, folk art raggedy doll Belindy

16" tall Belindy is made of muslin. Her head, arms, and legs are stuffed with polyester fiberfill and her body is stuffed with ragg (trimmings from my sewing projects and clean, recycled, clothing discards) to help her sit well. I then stained her, painted her black, and after she was dry, I sanded her. I stitched the muslin eye backs and mouth to her face and then stitched the mouth line and eye dots on them with black embroidery floss. Her nose is hand embroidered with dark red embroidery floss. Her hair is black crochet cotton, stitched into her scalp. She wears muslin pantaloons under her dress of hunter green and ecru plaid homespun check (there's a matching bow stitched into her hair). 27 1/2" tall Jubal Lee is made of muslin. She's stuffed with polyester fiberfill except the bottom of her body which has "ragg" for weight. (Ragg is trimmings from my cutting table and clean recycled bits of fabrics I've used in different projets.) She was made, stained, dried, painted black, dried again and sanded to perfection. Then the white lips and the whites of her eyes (muslin fabric) were hand stitched in place and She has black buttons stitched on top to finish the eyes. She has hand embroidered nose, mouth line, and eyebrows and lower lashes. Her hair is black crochet cotton stitched into her head and knottted. She wears muslin pantaloons. Her dress consists of a bodice of tan printed with red flowers and black stems and leaves, skirt and sleeves of black fabric with red stems and leaves and tan flowers, and a homespun check half apron of red, tan and black. There's a bow stitched in her hair to match her sleeves. Folk Art cheshire cat with toothy grin - 263

14" long and 13" high, this wonderful new design of mine is made of muslin. He's stuffed with polyester fiberfill, and has needle sculpted nose and mouth (check out those black lips). He was then stained with coffee, painted charcoal gray, and finally his markings, including the rings around his tail, were painted black. His tail has been stitched in place in front of his body.

His eyes are dark green shiny plastic buttons that resemble mother of pearl. He has stitched black cord whiskers. His teeth are painted. He's signed "designed and made with love, Lucy".
