Irish Luck Shamrock -101

This shamrock is 12" high and 12" wide. It's made of cotton canvas and stained with my personal coffee mixture and painted with a couple shades of green paint and then sanded. It holds a Momma Crow and a young-un, both handmade of muslin with bead eyes and painted and sanded. They're tucked into the shamrock with some twiggy "weeds", some real dried florals, some faux weeds and 2 sprays of rusty stars. There's a shipping tag hanging from the right hand side of the pocket that says "Irish Luck". There’s a wire fastened through the top of the shamrock for hanging.

St Patricks shamrock

I've rusted the pocket by adding a smear of my cinnamon grubbing mixture. It holds a Momma Crow and a young-un, both handmade of muslin with bead eyes and painted and sanded. There's a rusty key pinned to the left side of the pocket with a rusty safety pin. There’s a hanging wire fastened through the top of the shamrock.

Funnel Bat Make-do - 221

BATS ARE NOT JUST FOR HALLOWEEN. I live in an old house surrounded by lots of trees and old buildings and I get bats in the house in the spring and summer too.

This 7 1/2" tall bat make do is so much fun. The bat is made of muslin with a needle sculpted nose, stitched nose triangle and bead eyes. His wings are wired so they hold their pose nicely. He was painted and sanded. He's fastened to an age darkened vintage funnel with both glue inside the bat and wire wrapped around the bottom of the bat. This is a great conversation starter.

Charlotte - 509

29" Charlotte is made of muslin with XX stitched eyebrows, needle sculpted nose, hand embroidered lips and eyes. Her hair is dark brown raw wool from locally raised Wisconsin sheep. Her dancing shoes are painted and sanded with string straps fastened with tiny white buttons. There are muslin pantaloons under her dress of cinnamon brown with mustard hearts and squiggles. The dress has ruffles and a sash of tiny windowpane plaid in mustard and ecru. She is coffee stained and signed "designed and made with love, Lucy".

Rabbit Pinkeep on funnel - 322

10 1/2" tall (to the bend in his ear), and 3 1/2" in diameter, there's 2 1/2" of vintage, slightly rusty funnel showing under this adorable rabbit. He's made of muslin with a stitched-on ticking nose. His whkers and mouth are also hand stitched. He has tortoiseshell look eyes, stitched in place of course. His ears are wired so you can change the way they are bent. There are 2 rusted safety pins attached to the side of his face. One holds a rusty bell, the other holds a recycled shirt button. His coffee stained tag says PINKEEPER BUNNY on one side and it is signed "designed and made with love, Lucy" on the other side.

Norton - 221

34" tall Norton is made of muslin. His head, arms, and legs are stuffed with polyester fiberfill. His body is stuffed with clean ragg. The weight helps him sit. His nose and mouth are needle sculpted. Norton is painted black and sanded. THERE IS NO GLUE USED IN CREATING THIS RABBIT. The triangular part of his nose is embroidered with hemp cord. He has hemp cord whiskers. His eyes are buttons. He wears a vest of wool check in shades of brouwn, gray, and white. The vest is lined with cotton homespun fabric. Norton's hat is made of cotton canvas with a wool check band that matches his vest and a button where the band overlaps. The clothing is coffee stained.

Fat Black Rabbit - 261

This 15 1/2" tall rabbit is actually a little taller but his ears are bent. He's made of cotton flannel and is very round and very coffee stained. He's also painted black and lightly sanded. He has a needle sculpted face (nose and mouth), button eyes, and stitched nose and whiskers. His ears are wired and bend nicely. He even has little stitched toes. He carries a handmade color washed carrot with rag stip leaves and has a ratty, distressed brown tail.

Harriman - 338

18" Harriman hare is made of cotton flannel. He has a nicely needle sculpted nose and toes, button eyes and stitched whiskers. He wears a lovely bow tie and a nice felt hat with a band that matches his tie. He carries his carrot lunch. He also has a tail!

I know it's early to think about Halloween but I just finished this wonderful new Hester Prynne and she won't last long so...........

26" Hester Prynne. Did you ever see such a "round" witch Hester has a needlesculpted nose, stitched mouth and embroidered eyes and eyebrows. Her hair is raw wool from locally raised Wisconsing sheep. Her hat is made of homespun, painted black and wired so it can be bent. Her dress is black with 4 mismatched buttons on the bodice and a short gathered skirt. She wears gray homespun pantaloons with a ruffle at the knee. She has orange and black striped stockings with turquoise and white diamonds printed on the orange stripe and black high heeled boots. She is coffee stained.

Uncle Sam B - 132

36" tall Uncle Sam B is a new creation. He's made of muslin. His nose, lips and fingers are needle sculpted. He's been painted black and sanded then stained again. His eyes are brown, vintage look buttons I've recycled from a man's shirt. His "boots are painted and sanded". He has raw Cotswold sheep's wool hair and beard. His head, arms and legs are stuffed with polyester fiberfill and his body is stuffed with ragg (trimmings from my sewing projects and clean cut up clothing discards) to weight him so he sits nicely.

His clothing is 100% cotton. The lined vest is beige with navy blue stars. His hat brim and coat are navy blue homespun. Both are lined. The lapels are turned way back like colonial soldiers did (I've even seen a photo of Thomas Jefferson with the whole front of the coat tack back as a lapel). There are 2 navy blue buttons on each lapel. The pants and stovepipe of the hat are dark red and beige stripe. The hat is wires to stand nice and tall and also stuffed with polyester fiberfill to increase the stability. The doll, vest, pants and hat are all coffee/vanilla stained. There is also a hanging loop on the back of his hat brim so you can hang him with his feet touching a table top--it'll look like he's standing. He's signed "designed and made with love, Lucy".
