Pieces of the Past ~Angel Treasures

An olde box and an olde 1800's tombstone angel were the inspiration for this little piece of the past. With 6 strands of floss and my punchneedle I fashioned this tombstone angel using lots of prim cotton floss. Along the edge I whip stitched a 100% wool yarn with linen thread.

I attached the angel to an olde box I found in a local antique shop. It has a dark stain and measures 5 x 5 x 8 inches and would hold your sewing needfuls, hooking supplies, or any little treasures.

Beneath Winter's Snow Pinkeep

Laying deep beneath winter's snow is a seed just waiting to grow. A simple little flower with two little tulips and a background of dirty snow made using my needle punch and 6 strands of my hand~dyed cotton floss.

This little pinkeep sits inside an old tin jello mold. Inside the pinkeep is crushed walnut shells that will help keep your pins and needles nice and sharp.

Key to My Heart Bowl Filler

Who holds the key to your heart? A little wool heart fashioned with wool, a scrap of fabric, a rusty safety pins, a few old buttons, and a little key. I blanket stitched around the edges and filled the inside with crushed walnut shells.
